Victor Osimhen 'loves and wants to come to Chelsea' as club hero 'pushing' for transfer
Victor Osimhen's stance on a blockbuster summer transfer to Chelsea has been revealed.
Former Chelsea midfielder John Obi Mikel has claimed that Napoli striker Victor Osimhen “loves” and “wants to come” to the Blues ahead of what would be a sensational summer transfer. The Nigerian forward is one of the top forwards on the market and has been linked with a big-money move to Stamford Bridge.
Osimhen has been heavily tipped to leave Napoli at the end of the season and has a reported release clause of £111million. However, Chelsea are not the only viable suitor as Paris Saint-Germain see him as a top target to replace Kylian Mbappe, while Arsenal and Manchester United have also been mentioned with potential moves.
But Osimhen’s compatriot Mikel has revealed that he has been actively pushing the 25-year-old to Chelsea and insisted that he is open to the move. “I'm still Osimhen's agent when trying to get him to Chelsea,” Mikel said at Web Summit Qatar. “I've got 20 per cent of that deal, so I hope it works out!
"I think there is genuine interest between both. He loves the club, he wants to come to the club. Obviously he wants to follow my footsteps as a Nigerian player who has played for Chelsea.”
As an insider into the deal, Mikel also stated that the likes of PSG and United are also interested with Chelsea. But as Mauricio Pochettino’s outfit struggle without a capable presence up fron this season, the club icon believes that Osimhen can be their version of Erling Haaland if a move does go through.
“London is a fantastic city, instead of going to Liverpool, places like that, but he also has a lot of interest from places like Paris Saint-Germain, Man United,” Mikel added. “But I am still pushing, sending messages, trying to make sure that he doesn’t expect too much. Just narrow your mind on one club, the Blues.

“I am (acting as agent Mikel) but I hope he comes to the club because he will bring so much. One thing we lack, anyone who watched the final on Sunday will see that the one thing we are lacking is scoring goals. We need that striker who will score goals.
“That’s what Victor will give you. He’s not the most skillful guy, but goals are definitely guaranteed. If he could get us 20 goals a season, 25, then who knows? That’s what Erling Haaland does, that’s why he is one of the best.
“He’s not really there for link-ups and all of that. Get the ball in the box and he will finish, that is something that Victor Osimhen will give us. Let’s hope it works out and he comes to Chelsea and becomes a legend.”
