According to Rome outlet Il Messaggero, Tottenham held negotiations over the capture of Ibanez on Thursday.

The Serie A giants are keen to raise funds to meet looming Financial Fair Play criteria, and Ibanez is one player expected to depart.
The report states that Pinto met Tottenham on Thursday to potentially seal a deal for Ibanez.

Roma value the 24-year-old Brazilian at around £26million after his crucial role in the 2022/23 campaign, making 48 appearances in all competitions.

But they are unlikely to continue to operate in the role if Postecoglou uses a back four, making the club's early efforts to acquire a centre-back unsurprising.
