Piers Morgan unleashes wild Arsenal rant after 'scared rabbits' lost to Man City
Piers Morgan has described Arsenal as 'frightened rabbits' after they were crushed by Man City on Wednesday.
Guardiola gives verdict on Man City's win over Arsenal
Arsenal fan Piers Morgan has accused Mikel Arteta's side of acting like 'frightened rabbits' in Wednesday's 4-1 defeat against Manchester City. Morgan claims the Gunners were 'mentally destroyed' by their Premier League title rivals at the Etihad Stadium in what was a potentially-fatal blow to their fading hopes of glory.
Kevin De Bruyne and Erling Haaland ran Arsenal ragged as City emphatically entered pole position in the title race.
The result extended Arsenal's dire run to four games without victory after squandering 2-0 leads to draw at Liverpool and West Ham United and failing to beat Southampton last weekend.
And Morgan has lamented the Londoners' collapse, putting it down to mental frailties against a team used to challenging for silverware at this stage of the season.
He told talkSPORT: "We choked a two-goal lead against Liverpool. We choked a two-goal lead against West Ham. We struggled to even draw with Southampton.
"And now we've been absolutely destroyed by Manchester City, and that's four in four games. So I'm afraid there is no easy way to say this, but we have bottled it. And I do think it comes down to mentality.
"We've got the ability, we've got the talent, we've got the players, we've got the youthful zest and energy, we've got all those things.

"I don't think that City, man-for-man before they walked out yesterday, think, 'well, every single player is way better than Arsenal's'. I don't think anybody thought that.
"Otherwise, why would we be five points clear in the league? But the truth is, after that game, every single City player played immeasurably better than the opposite number.
"The whole team, frankly, were hopeless, and I do think it's a mental thing. I looked at the City team, even in the tunnel, I looked at them, and I just thought they reminded me of those Wenger title-winning teams.
"The 97/98 team, that 2002 team, the Invincibles. And I remember Paul Scholes telling me once you get in the tunnel against those Arsenal teams, you'd look down, and you just see a bunch of champions staring at you.

"And I think last night Arsenal looked like frightened rabbits in the tunnel, looked over, and saw a bunch of champions staring at them.
"And then they played like a bunch of frightened rabbits against a team that are the champions right now, believe they deserve to be champions and are going to be champions. It's a mental thing."
Morgan also pinpointed Thomas Partey, Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Martinelli and Gabriel Jesus for criticism over their lack of an impact in such a high-stakes game.
Arsenal will drop to second for the first time in a prolonged period if City defeat Fulham on Sunday.
