With the 2022 World Cup kicking off tomorrow as hosts Qatar face Ecuador in Group A, Arsenal fans have plenty to look forward to over the next six weeks. The Gunners have 10 representatives in the Middle East across five groups after a blistering start to the Premier League season, sitting top of the tree by a five-point margin after 14 games.

William Saliba is a popular predicted pick for Young Player of the Tournament, and he can set a precedent for a good winter in the group stage. If the brackets go as widely expected, the 21-year-old could face Ramsdale, White and Saka in the quarter-finals.

Japan enter the World Cup as outsiders to qualify for the knockout stages, with Takehiro Tomiyasu likely to have his work cut out for him in Group E with Germany and Spain. But Tomiyasu is part of an exciting squad that undoubtedly has the potential to spring a surprise.

Gabriel Martinelli and Gabriel Jesus are members of the tournament favourites and the No 1-seeded nation, Brazil. They are joined in Group G by in-form midfielder Granit Xhaka, whose Switzerland side are expected to battle with Serbia for second place.
From the World Cup's top-seeded nation to the bottom-seeded nation... Thomas Partey is the centrepiece of a Ghana side expected to solely bring colour and vibrancy to the fray in Group H. But a player of the Gunners midfielder's quality can propel any team to the next level, so perhaps it won't be as clear cut as it looks on paper...
