Man Utd V FC Sheriff In Pictures
Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag was filmed furiously shaking his head and rolling his eyes after Antony's showboating against Sheriff. The Red Devils star decided to spin the ball twice while standing still before putting it out of play for a goal kick. And he's attracted criticism for his actions, with some believing he overstepped the mark.
Manchester United decided to start with Antony, with the Brazil international shining in the short time since his summer arrival from Ajax. But the Samba star raised eyebrows at Old Trafford with some unnecessary showboating against Sheriff.
Antony decided to pull out some tricks before putting the ball straight out of play, with fans inside the ground and on social media unhappy with his actions.
And Ten Hag was among those livid, with the Dutchman caught rolling his eyes and shaking his head in the aftermath of the incident. To compound matters, Antony was then withdrawn at half time with Marcus Rashford coming on in his place.
Robbie Savage, who was commentating for BT Sport, remarked at the time of Antony’s showboating: “If I was the manager and he did that again, I would drag him off!”
Paul Scholes was asked about Antony on BT Sport at half time.
And the United legend let out a chuckle before saying: “If I was a number six playing out there I know what I would be doing.
“I don’t know what he is doing, it is just ridiculous. He is not beating a man, he is not entertaining anybody, then he kicks the ball out.
“But that is the way he plays but I think he needs that knocking out of him."

Owen Hargreaves then also weighed in, with the former United, Manchester City and Bayern Munich star saying: “If you are going to do it, the final pass has to be good.
“That is just how it is now, but at 0-0 you don’t do that. I don’t even think you do that when you are three or four goals up, it’s disrespectful.”
Diogo Dalot’s goal has put United ahead against Sheriff. And Scholes commented on his header by saying: “It was a good goal with a bit of quality from Eriksen that has been missing from that first half.

“Dalot is not someone you expect to be up there heading the ball, he is not the tallest. The goal was coming just like the Omonia game, it’s just that little bit of quality that is required.”
And, on Eriksen, he said: “He has got so much space in the middle of the pitch, and we know the quality this lad has had for years and he has been really good this season.”
United defeated Sheriff and now have 12 points from a possible 15. That sets up a tantalising tie with Real Sociedad on the final matchday of the group stages.
