Rangnick comments on Martial's Man Utd future amid exit talk
Interim Manchester United manager Ralf Rangnick has taken action after Donny van de Beek failed to take his opportunity to impress. Van de Beek struggled for game time under former boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who appeared to have little idea as to how to use the Dutchman.
He was signed for £35million in the summer of 2020 from Ajax, but played just 61 minutes in the Premier League before Solskjaer was sacked.
Van de Beek’s status in the squad came to be one of the biggest criticisms of Solskjaer towards the end of his reign.
Many pundits and fans believed the former Ajax man could have a positive impact on United as they struggled for wins.
His fortunes have improved slightly since the Norwegian’s departure, appearing in six successive matches in all competitions.
But it appears that his performances have left much to be desired where Rangnick’s concerned, with the United boss readying his January transfer plans.

Rangnick has a very clear tactical plan which involves playing with two holding midfielders as a ‘double six’.
Van de Beek was handed an opportunity to show he can he play in that position when Young Boys visited Old Trafford in the Champions League.
But the Dutchman put in an unconvincing performance against the Swiss side as he struggled to impose himself on the game.
He was even culpable for the visitors’ equaliser when his loose pass to Aaron Wan-Bisska was intercepted by Fabian Rieder before the winger fired a shot into the top corner.
