Arteta feels Aubameyang will be boosted by return of fans
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is facing a huge fight to save his Arsenal career after being stripped of the captaincy on Tuesday. The Gabon international was recently dropped by Mikel Arteta for a breach of the club’s rules. Now, the Spaniard has decided to go to war with the club’s main striker.
Aubameyang has been off the boil this season, with the Arsenal star currently on a run of six matches without a goal.
Now, the club have confirmed he’s been stripped of the captaincy with a brief, albeit damning statement.
“Following his latest disciplinary breach last week, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang will no longer be our club captain, and will not be considered for selection for Wednesday's match against West Ham United,” they said.
“We expect all our players, particularly our captain, to work to the rules and standards we have all set and agreed.
“We are fully focused on tomorrow’s match.”
Express Sport will take a look at the four clubs Aubameyang may now join in the wake of the Gunners’ brutal decision.

Before Aubameyang joined Arsenal, he was a prolific goalscorer at Borussia Dortmund.
And with the Bundesliga side potentially facing the prospect of Erling Haaland leaving the club come the summer, a reunion would suit all parties.
Aubameyang would return to the club where he really made his name, shining under managers such as Jurgen Klopp and Thomas Tuchel before his move to north London.
Dortmund, in turn, would gain a striker capable of doing the business - if they get him fully firing.
Finances may be an obstacle but with Aubameyang now in trouble, sacrifices could be made to ensure everything works out.
