Press conference with Manchester United's caretaker manager Michael Carrick ahead of his side's Premier League match against Chelsea
Manchester United's Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's departure on Sunday led to a whole host of managers being linked with the vacancy at Old Trafford. With Ralf Rangnick set to temporarily become boss for six months, rumours have already started about who he may appoint over the summer. Express Sport takes a look at four options who could take the reins under Rangnick's recommendation.
Carrick could follow in Solskjaer's footsteps by becoming permanent boss following a caretaker role at the Theatre of Dreams.
Having won in his first game against Villarreal - albeit in uninspiring circumstances - Carrick will be given the chance to impress against Chelsea on Sunday.
Evidently, Rangnick will come in to steady the ship but Carrick's expertise could be vital to United's cause.
And if the Englishman impresses Rangnick over the course of the second half of the season, he could well be recommended for a full-time role.
