He hasn't played much in the last two years, but Manchester United defender Phil Jones has still been left furious by his former teammate Rio Ferdinand's recent criticism of him. Jones joined as a youngster from Blackburn in 2011 and started life well at Old Trafford.
But after being ravaged by injuries, poor form and having a whole host of new managers come and go, Jones has failed to make the first team spot his own.
Having mustered just eight appearances in two years, Jones recently spoke about his United hell in the club's official podcast.
"It’s been tough," he said.
"I think as a footballer, as a person, as a human being, that’s the lowest I probably ever felt in my life.

"You try and get a balance between football and family life but it was so difficult going home and trying to look after the kids.
"You’re there, but you’re not there, you’re not present. It’s nice to get that balance back."
Jones has come under a lot of criticism from United fans for not contributing anything to the club after being offered a new-deal.
And Ferdinand is one of his biggest doubters, calling Jones a 'waste of time'.

"I think he should’ve gone ages ago," Ferdinand said on his FIVE podcast earlier this year.
"He should’ve gone before Chris Smalling went. Find a new club and play some football.
"I am baffled at how he’s still been given a new deal at the club given his past few years at the club. It just doesn’t make sense to me how you get a new deal."
The pair played together at Old Trafford for three seasons, giving Jones enough reason to believe the London-born legend would be supportive of him.
