Rodgers gives update on Maddison amid Arsenal links
Arsenal are prioritising the signing of a goalkeeper ahead of any other deal, according to reports. Arsenal are interested in signing Leicester attacking midfielder James Maddison. But that move will have to wait as the Gunners go in search of a back-up to Bernd Leno.
Leno is undeniably Arsenal's first-choice goalkeeper at present.
Runar Alex Runarsson is still at the club despite coming close to a move to Turkey earlier in the summer.
Runarsson had a poor first season at the Emirates last term and the Gunners have been in the market for a replacement.
Mat Ryan, who spent the second half of last season on loan at Arsenal, joined Real Sociedad on a free transfer in the hope of getting more regular game time.

Sheffield United's Aaron Ramsdale remains their top target in that position.
But the Blades want over £30m for a player who would likely begin his career at Arsenal as a back-up.
West Brom's Sam Johnstone has also been linked, as have Ajax's Andre Onana and Barcelona's Neto.
Despite the pressing need for a player like Maddison, Arsenal have no senior player to step into Leno's shoes if he were to go down injured.
