Manchester United may be forced to pause their pursuit of Real Madrid centre-back Raphael Varane to prioritise strengthening another area of the defence. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer wants reinforcements at full-back this summer, with Atletico Madrid's Kieran Trippier a primary target.
Adidas and Manchester United have launched their official 2021/22 home jersey, putting a modern twist on their classic club styles.
After confirming the £73million signing of Borussia Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho on Friday, United are now prioritising an arrival at centre-back.
The Red Devils have reportedly agreed personal terms with Varane but are yet to submit an offer to Real.
It's expected to take around £50m to prize him away from the La Liga giants, but United may choose to take the next chunk of their budget to the other side of Madrid.
As it stands, Solskjaer doesn't have a natural left-back at full fitness with less than three weeks to go until the new season starts.

Speaking ahead of United's pre-season friendly at Queens Park Rangers on Saturday, the Norwegian boss confirmed Alex Telles had suffered an injury in training.
He told MUTV: "Alex [Telles] slipped and twisted his ankle, so he's out for a few weeks. Hopefully it's not too bad."
With Telles likely to be absent for United's Premier League opener against Leeds United on August 14, Solskjaer will now be sweating on Shaw's fitness.
Not only is the 26-year-old returning to pre-season late after his lengthy Euro 2020 campaign with England, but he also suffered broken ribs during the summer tournament.

With Brandon Williams nearing a season-long loan at Southampton, United could be worryingly short at full-back to start the campaign.
It could lead to United swerving Varane for now and focusing on securing Trippier first.
However, the France international appears to be the club's firm priority after Sancho and minor injury doubts are unlikely to change that.
