Italian newspapers threw their support behind the Italian football team as they shared their opinions of Euro 2020 which unfortunately suffered from unruly behaviour from fans despite the football teams being praised for their honourable tournament performance. Some newspapers chose to focus on the English football fans whose behaviour led to vandalism in some parts of London. One newspaper went so far as to brand English fans as "hooligans" who were all the same despite Brexit.

Beyond the front pages, Italian newspapers were jubilant at their victory and further taunted England fans.
Il Messaggero called Italian goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma “the giant who shut Wembley up” after the final game went to penalties.
Gianluigi Donnarumma was also given Player of the Tournament following several game-winning saves including against England after he saved penalties from Jadon Sancho and Bukayo Saka.

But Il Messaggero went further and said: “Justice has been done against these unpleasant English who booed our sacred national anthem.”
The paper added England fans were “Hooligans who, Brexit or no Brexit, are all the same.
“The night before they sacked London in all conceivable ways, with smoke bombs, wild choirs, beer that overflowed from their bottles and their stomachs.
"Which ended on the pavement amid broken glass and the stench of alcohol – and, what’s more, trampled our flag throughout the city.
“Better to beat them like this, on penalties, under their lovely drizzle.”
The football tournament was marred by the behaviour of fans before and after the final match which saw vandalism and racist abuse thrown at England players.
Jadon Sancho, Marcus Rashford and Bukayo Saka suffered from racist attacks on social media as some fans blamed them for England's loss on penalties.
Fans also attempted to rush into Wembley Stadium without tickets to watch the game as stewards, police and fellow fans violently clashed in shocking clips.
Leicester Square was also trashed by fans who threw bottles and bins across the pathway.
A banner in Rome also said "F*** the Queen" as Italians celebrated the win on Sunday night.
