England vs Denmark: Blackford backs Three Lions in PMQs
From agony, to ecstasy. England could have been forgiven for fearing the worst when Denmark went ahead in their Euro 2020 semi-final clash, with Mikkel Damsgaard opening the scoring with a terrific free kick. However, a Simon Kjaer own goal and Harry Kane have now propelled Gareth Southgate’s side to the final. The Promised Land, after 55 years of hurt, is in sight.
England went into the match against Denmark as favourites.
But they found themselves facing a heartbreaking exit when Damsgaard fired the visitors ahead with a pinpoint free-kick that sailed beyond Jordan Pickford between the sticks.
Fortunately for Southgate, and for the nation, England then rallied.
A Kjaer own goal then levelled the scores - with the Dane converting into his own net while under pressure from Raheem Sterling.
And Harry Kane struck a penalty in extra time to spark wild scenes across the country, with England now on the cusp of glory as a result.
It’s a magical feeling being in the final, the Three Lions’ first since 1966. So it’s now time to look at the four heroes on a memorable night at Wembley.

Bukayo Saka missed the stirring 4-0 win over Ukraine, with Jadon Sancho starting the match in Rome instead.
However, for the visit of Denmark, Southgate decided to be bold.
Saka was picked ahead of Sancho, who is primed to join Manchester United after the tournament, but certainly didn't let his side down.
The Arsenal star was a threatening presence throughout and it was his excellent ball across the box that led to Kjaer putting the ball past Schmeichel and into his net.
He should now start the final and that's quite a step up for the youngster who, at the age of 19, could be set for the biggest match of his career.

Declan Rice
England, at times, were overrun by Denmark.
But that wasn't the fault of Declan Rice, who put in a commanding performance in the middle of the park as the Three Lions battled their way to victory.
Rice was always the first of the cavalry ready to charge back when Denmark broke forward, winning the ball back on multiple occasions.
He fared significantly better than Kalvin Phillips, who the game felt beyond this time around.
And it's little wonder Manchester United and Chelsea both have interest in the West Ham star, despite the Hammers demanding £100million to let him go.

Harry Kane
Oh it could have been so different.
We could have been writing a story about how Kane’s miss saw England fail to make the final. Thank goodness that’s not the case.
The Tottenham star missed his penalty, with Schmeichel saving it with ease.
But the Leicester goalkeeper failed to hold onto the Spurs hitman’s effort and he was able to convert at the second attempt.
Football, right? What a night. Is it coming home? Maybe, just maybe.
