Kieran Tierney has not been named in the Scotland squad for today's Euro 2020 match against Czech Republic. Tierney is a regular fixture in Steve Clarke's side so his absence will come as a huge blow for Scotland in their first match at a major tournament in 23 years. The defender has had a number of injury problems during his career and Clarke confirmed he misses the match due to a "niggle" picked up in training.
Clarke is hopeful Tierney will play against England on Friday, telling the BBC: "Kieran picked up a little niggle during the week in training, so not ready for this one, hopefully ready for the next one."
Tierney started both of Scotland's warm-up matches before the tournament against Holland and Luxembourg.
He did not train fully with the Scotland squad at their Middlesbrough base on Saturday.
Assistant manager John Carver claimed that was because the Arsenal star has a different fitness regime.
“Kieran’s on a different programme," Carver said.
