Arsenal: Arteta details plan to return to top four
Arsenal are set to complete the signing of Brighton goalkeeper Mat Ryan, according to reports. Ryan spent the second half of last season on loan at the Emirates, making three appearances for the Gunners, and is now set to join on a permanent deal. He will become the club's No 2 after Arsenal pulled out of a deal for Brentford's David Raya.
Ryan impressed in his brief time with Arsenal and posted a farewell message to supporters on his Instagram page last week.
The Australian wrote: "Have had a blast with this last chapter experiencing all that’s been involved in representing @arsenal.
"Have learnt so much and enjoyed every minute of it.
"To the many great people around the club whom I’ve had the pleasure of associating with, thank you for making me feel welcome and making the transition into the family a very easy one, I look forward to continuing the relationships well into the future.

Ryan played a key part in Brighton's first three seasons in the Premier League before being dropped midway through last term.
Mikel Arteta is clearly a fan of the former Valencia stopper.
Speaking after the draw with Fulham in April, he said: “I put Mat in goal today because he trains like a beast, he’s really positive around the place, he’s been doing very well and he deserves the chance.”
Ryan will become backup to Bernd Leno under Arteta after a deal for Brentford star Raya fell through.
