Harry Kane has become one of Manchester United’s top targets this summer after informing Tottenham of his desire to leave. The Red Devils’ reasons for their desire to bring Kane to Old Trafford have been made clear of the course of the Premier League campaign and also provide a reminder of a former transfer target.
Kane has once again excelled for a struggling Spurs team, scoring 23 goals and notching 14 assists in the top-flight.
But his astonishing goal contributions have not been enough to prevent what has been a season of struggle for Tottenham.
After going top of the league early in the season, their form dropped off which led to the sacking of Jose Mourinho.
It has also been some time since Spurs challenged for the Premier League title and they now appear to be further away than ever from getting the better of Manchester City.
