Arsenal: Arteta says they're still in top four contention
Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta did a good job of trimming his first-team squad in the January transfer window. Mesut Ozil finally left the Gunners, with experienced defenders Sokratis Papastathopoulos and Shkodran Mustafi also both shown the exit door. Sead Kolasinac was only loaned out, though his long-term future at the club looks in doubt.
Youngsters William Saliba and Joe Willock have gone out on loan, with their futures still at the Emirates.
Meanwhile, Ainsley Maitland-Niles has gone to West Brom on a similar deal, though the move does question where the 23-year-old features in Arteta's plans.
Third-choice goalkeeper Matt Macey also left to join Hibernian on a permanent deal.
Arteta made it clear he wanted to reduce the numbers in his squad, but did also bring in two new players in the window.
