Liverpool: Klopp gives transfer update amid Davies links
Liverpool are in a race against time to sign Schalke defender Ozan Kabak before tonight's 11pm transfer deadline, according to reports. Liverpool are set to complete the signing of Preston centre-back Ben Davies for a fee of around £2million. But Davies is not the only defender Jurgen Klopp wants to bring to Anfield.

German clubs only have until 5pm UK time to sign players.
Sky Sports report Schalke have identified the player they want to replace Kabak but it is not certain if that deal can be completed before the deadline.
Liverpool are acting fast following the further injuries blows they have suffered in defence.
Club chiefs appeared to be content not to make any signings in this window following the long-term injuries suffered by Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez.

However, the recent fitness problems of Fabinho and Joel Matip have sparked them into life.
Speaking after Sunday's 3-1 win at West Ham, Klopp remained tight-lipped about potential incomings and praised the performance of Nat Phillips at the London Stadium.
“Nothing to say about it," Klopp told Sky Sports.
“I say it all the time, in our situation it makes sense [to sign a centre-back].

“[But] Nat Phillips played a decent game, James Milner shouted at Hendo [Jordan Henderson] ‘you better be careful, because if you keep playing like this, you’ll be centre-back for the rest of your career’.
“Our eyes are always open, and we try to fix our situation. If we can do it, I don’t know. If not, we play like tonight.
“If it’s not a problem, it’s only a problem if something else happens – then we become a little bit short, that’s true.”
