Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel will adopt the same approach as Jose Mourinho did when the Portuguese returned to manage the Blues in 2013, reckons former Crystal Palace chairman Simon Jordan. Tuchel was appointed as Frank Lampard's successor at Chelsea on Tuesday. The German signed an 18-month contract with the option of a further year.
Tuchel will lead Chelsea for the first time tonight when the Blues host Wolves at Stamford Bridge.
And Jordan believes younger members of the first-team squad, such as Billy Gilmour, will suffer under Tuchel as he searches for immediate success like Mourinho did.
“Tuchel will do precisely what Mourinho did five or six years ago when he came back to Chelsea, which is go to what he thinks is established talent and go to what he thinks will get him instantaneous, on the ground, results,” Jordan told talkSPORT.
“Now, that then puts the players like Billy Gilmour in challenging positions; specifically Billy Gilmour to some extent because he’s a very young player coming into the side and a very recent arrival.

And Jordan believes managers such as Mourinho and Tuchel can be considered "one dimensional" at times.
He added: “I remember looking at Chelsea with Mourinho, I know I’ve got a bit of dog in the fight here, but he insisted upon playing Oscar over Victor Moses.
“He didn’t give Victor Moses a look in because, as far as he was concerned, Victor Moses was somebody who wasn’t on his radar, who wasn’t an established player.
“He’d been at Palace and Wigan, wasn’t this, wasn’t that, wasn’t the other.
“Where’s Oscar now? He’s playing in China for a big bag of money and Victor Moses has gone on to win the Premier League with Chelsea and played for Liverpool and Inter Milan.
“So I think these guys are a little bit, at times, one dimensional in their view, but they go to what is a guaranteed outcome as far as they’re concerned.”
