Man Utd not meeting Sancho asking price is 'bizarre' says Cross
Manchester United chiefs think they’ve dodged a bullet by not signing Borussia Dortmund star Jadon Sancho, according to reports. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer earmarked the England international as a priority transfer target back in the summer. However, a move to Old Trafford failed to materialise with the Red Devils ultimately signing Edinson Cavani instead.
United wanted to sign Sancho, and he wanted to come.
In the end, however, Joel Glazer blocked Ed Woodward from paying over the odds to sign the England international.
Dortmund wanted a huge £108million to part ways with their prized asset, a fee that would have seen him become the costliest signing in Premier League history.
United didn’t want to go that high and instead opted to sign Cavani, who arrived on a free transfer from Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-Germain.
And The Mirror claim Red Devils chiefs think they’ve dodged a bullet by not signing Sancho.
The 20-year-old was electric last term, scoring 17 goals and registering 17 assists from 34 Bundesliga matches.
