Liverpool have matched their own record after beating Crystal Palace 7-0 in their Premier League clash on Saturday. Jurgen Klopp’s side entered the showdown looking to build on their 2-1 victory over Tottenham in midweek. And they did just that, with the Reds now primed to sit at the top of the table on Christmas day.
Liverpool were too strong for Palace, with Klopp’s side hitting the Eagles for seven at Selhurst Park.
Takumi Minamimo opened the scoring in the third minute, beating Vicente Guaita from close range after being picked over Mohamed Salah at the start of the game.
Sadio Mane doubled Liverpool’s lead in the 35th minute, with Roberto Firmino then adding a third shortly before the interval.
Jordan Henderson got in on the act in the second half, before Firmino struck again.
And a late brace from Salah added gloss on a sublime afternoon at the office, with the Egypt international previously left on the bench.
For Liverpool, it means they’ll sit at the top of the table at Christmas for the third year in a row.

"It's two different decisions. I'm not sure it's a compromise,” said Klopp, with teams now permitted to name nine players on the bench from this weekend, up from the previous seven.
"I cannot do you a favour to create headlines, everyone knows what I think about it.
"You have to ask other people. There were 10 clubs who voted against it. It was not about advantages, only player welfare. Only them voted against it in Europe, in the world.
"There must be a reason for it. Every club wants to stay in the league, some win the league, but here's pretty much the only league, because the Championship decided differently. It's not for me to give an answer."
"You have to ask the others and I will try to catch up with the articles you write if you do that."
