Arsenal: Arteta laments Xhaka red card in Burnley loss
Arsenal star David Luiz is the Gunners’ true captain instead of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Jermaine Jenas believes. The Brazil international has been absent since the 2-1 defeat to Wolves earlier in the month. He said: “It’s another defeat which is extremely disappointing.
“I have the feeling that we gave the game away because we had complete control of the game, we were on top of the game, we should have scored one or two [goals] easily, they created nothing and obviously when you give the red card away, the game changes.
“At a set piece, which is one of their man strengths, we conceded a goal.

One of the biggest talking points from the match was Granit Xhaka’s red card.
The Switzerland international received his marching orders after grabbing Ashley Westwood by the throat.

“In my opinion, it’s too much willingness to do well, to compete, to give everything you have.
“We took it to the wrong side. When you step over the line you know you’re going to get punished and we did. We cannot make those mistakes.”
Arsenal are next in action against Southampton on Wednesday night (6pm).
