Man United: Tuanzebe is the ‘future of the club’ says Solskjaer
Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has admitted Axel Tuanzebe ‘nearly surprised’ his staff with his terrific performance against PSG in the Champions League on Tuesday. The 22-year-old made his first start in 10 months at the Parc des Princes. And he helped his team to a memorable Champions League win.
Manchester United were underdogs before the PSG game, having already succumbed to defeats against Crystal Palace and Tottenham in the Premier League.
But they put their domestic woes behind them with a sensational defensive display at the Parc des Princes.
United took an early lead through Bruno Fernandes, with the 25-year-old finding the net via the penalty spot after Keylor Navas had saved his first attempt.
An Anthony Martial own-goal then drew PSG level and it looked as if the Red Devils would have to settle for a point.
However, late on, Marcus Rashford struck to ensure they take all three back to England.
There were many positives for United. Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Alex Telles, Fred, Scott McTominay and David De Gea all flourished amid the heat of the battle.

Solskjaer also labelled Fred and Scott McTominay as ‘outstanding’ in the middle of the park.
"It's a better performance this time than last, even though we won 3-1," Solskjaer added.
"The performance this time, we showed we have developed.
"Scott [McTominay] and Fred were outstanding. We know when we go here against players and a team like this with players like Neymar and Mbappe we have to defend well and David [de Gea] will have to make a few good saves."
On match winner Rashford, he added: “I thought we created so many chances.
“I think we could have scored a few more. It was almost his most difficult one, the one Marcus scored from.
“It was a great turn and shot down in the corner. And he's been at that end of the pitch before as you said.”
Solskjaer also feels the result can give United confidence, with their next match against Chelsea at Old Trafford on Saturday night (5.30pm).
“Yes of course. It's all about what's in between the ears, football is,” said the 47-year-old.
“Yes, you've got talent, physicality and the technical bit but if your head is screwed on right and you're focused and concentrating on your job, then you get performances like this.”
