Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta makes honest assessment of 'issues' in West Ham win
Arsenal left it late to pick up all three points against West Ham.
Arsenal: Lacazette reacts to opening day win over Fulham
Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta couldn't hide his delight at his side's 2-1 win over West Ham on Saturday night, but he admitted there are still big improvements to be made. The Gunners moved joint top of the Premier League with their victory over David Moyes' side.
Alexandre Lacazette set Arsenal on their way early on in the game, heading in after being set up by Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
But Arsenal struggled to build on from taking the lead early on with West Ham slowly working their way into the contest.
And the Hammers took advantage of a lapse in concentration from Arsenal just before half-time with Michail Antonio scoring an equaliser.
West Ham came out the better of the two sides in the second half and had a number of opportunities to take the lead.
JUST IN: Arsenal 2-1 West Ham: Nketiah seals huge three points for Gunners
Arsenal held on with the game looking as though it was going to end in a draw.
But substitute Nketiah scored late on to ensure all three points for the Gunners to make it two wins from two.
Arteta was seen punching the air in delight at the final whistle and he was clearly happy at seeing his side grind out all three points.
However, the Arsenal boss also pointed out that he expects a more controlled performance from his side in the future.

“I am really happy with the three points, but we have a lot to analyse because we have a lot of issues we created for ourselves in many moments," Arteta said.
“We have to improve many things.
“Yes [we got away with one], but we created many chances to win the game and we conceded too many chances that were our fault.
“What I liked was the approach from the boys, they lifted up in the final 25 minutes, a few months we would have drawn or lost that game.
“In the end you have to find a way because we are going to have games like this through the season.”
Arsenal have just a few days to recover before taking on Leicester in the EFL Cup on Wednesday.
And that will be followed up by a return to Premier League action against defending champions Liverpool on September 28.
The fixtures don't get any easier for Arteta's side heading into October with consecutive games against Manchester City, Leicester and Manchester United.
