Chelsea: Lampard addresses Edouard Mendy transfer rumours
Chelsea have finally reached an agreement with Rennes to sign goalkeeper Edouard Mendy with his medical already booked, according to reports. Mendy has emerged as Chelsea's top target to come in and provide competition with Kepa Arizzabalaga.

“With the shot I’m not sure if he could’ve done any better. But I saw a bit more confidence in how he was playing.
"Kepa is here, he’s our keeper and I’m happy with him. If we are bringing in competition, it will be competition. That’s the nature of Chelsea and it goes throughout the squad.”
Chelsea have been locked in negotiations with Rennes regarding a fee for the shot-stopper.
But it appears as though transfer chief Marina Granovskaia has had a breakthrough in talks with the Ligue 1 club.
According to Goal, the two clubs have now come to an agreement on Mendy's transfer to the Premier League.
It is claimed that Chelsea will pay £22million for Mendy, taking their summer spending close to £250m.
The 28-year-old is now expected to arrive in London in the very near future to complete his medical.
Mendy has also agreed personal terms on a five-year contract.

Part of the negotiations had also included Rennes' desire to take Fikayo Tomori on loan.
But the report suggests Chelsea have managed to keep Tomori out of the deal for Mendy as they're not prepared to let him leave at this stage.
Chelsea's technical and performance advisor Petr Cech along with head of the goalkeeper department Christophe Lollichon were said to be key in Chelsea's pursuit of Mendy.
If the deal is completed next week, Mendy could be in line to make his Premier League debut against West Brom.
