Chelsea: Kai Havertz says ‘my best position is as number ten’
Chelsea boss Frank Lampard should not start Kai Havertz against Liverpool on Sunday if he is not physically ready, according to former Blues defender Frank Leboeuf. Havertz made his Chelsea debut in Monday's 3-1 win over Brighton at the Amex. The Germany international lasted 80 minutes before being replaced by Callum Hudson-Odoi.
Havertz played on the right of Chelsea's front three but the £70million signing struggled to have an impact on the match.
The 21-year-old had just a week with his new team-mates before being thrust into action by Lampard.
Havertz is one of six new signings made by Chelsea so far this summer, with Lampard's side holding aspirations of challenging for the Premier League title.
Leboeuf says Sunday's game is important for Chelsea to lay down a marker against the reigning champions.

Chelsea news: Frank Lampard has splashed the cash this summer (Image: EXPRESS)
"I played as a right winger, as a No.10, as a No.6, No.8 and sometimes as a striker as well.
"But for more it’s very important to have that flexibility on the pitch and to be creative, that’s something I like. I think I can play many positions.
"Of course, for me my best position is as a No.10, but of course I can play on the right side or as a striker as well. To be honest I’m happy to stay on the pitch. I think I’m flexible."
