Gareth Bale returning to Spurs would be 'brilliant' says pundit
Tottenham could end up getting Gareth Bale for two years, as they will reportedly have the option of extending his loan spell until the end of his Real Madrid contract. The Sun claims Tottenham have kept the deal within their wage structure, despite paying him £250,000-per-week.

As a result, he will miss the first month of his time back at the club, and could be forced to wait until the end of October before his first appearance for Tottenham since 2013.
However, even if he does end up missing the first portion of the season, he’ll still potentially have a long time to make an impression in north London.
The Sun claims Tottenham have inserted a clause into the contract allowing for his loan to be extended by another year if he performs well upon his return.
Bale’s contract at Real Madrid expires in 2022, and he has previously insisted he is happy to sit out the rest of his deal.

But now, he might end up staying in north London instead of returning next summer.
Bale’s initial loan agreement is for one year, meaning he’ll have one season remaining on his Madrid contract if he were to return next summer.
It remains to be seen whether Tottenham will have a permanent option on his loan, though they’ll presumably be able to get him at a discount next summer due to the time left on his Madrid contract.
Madrid were reportedly ready to let him leave for £20million this summer, having blocked his free transfer to Chinese sideJiangsuSuning last year.
Tottenham are set to confirm the deal today, and will likely announce the arrival of SergioReguilonat the same time.
Spurs have agreed to pay £27.5m for the left-back, and only asked about Bale’s availability when they werenegotiatingwith Madrid for the 23-year-old.
Both new signings apparently met with Jose Mourinho after arriving at the Enfield training ground on Friday to discuss their roles in the side.
Neither will be able to play against Southampton tomorrow, however, as the paperwork was reportedly not completed in time.
