Kostas Tsimikas' shirt number options as Liverpool plan medical ahead of £11.75m transfer
Liverpool are looking to seal the signing of Kostas Tsimikas from Olympiacos.
Liverpool: Jamal Lewis discusses playing against Reds in 2019
Liverpool are said to be close to completing an £11.75m raid on Olympiacos for Kostas Tsimikas. The left-back is expected in town next week to complete his medical.
A left-back to provide cover for Andy Robertson has been high on the agenda for Liverpool, who are working with a limited transfer budget as a result of the coronavirus crisis' financial impact.
Norwich City star Jamal Lewis had been their leading target but the Canaries priced them out a move.
Lewis was eager to make the switch to Anfield, despite the presence of Robertson, who is widely considered to be one of the best left-backs in world football.
Liverpool launched an opening offer worth around £10m but the Championship outfit were looking for double.
Premier League done deals: Every confirmed transfer this summer so far
The Premier League champions have therefore turned their attention to Tsimikas, who has caught the eye of the club's scouting department.
The Greece international was a standout performer in last week's defeat to Wolves as Olympiacos were edged out of the Europa League.

He will become Liverpool's first singing of the summer transfer window if he passes a medical and agrees personal terms.
Express Sport takes a look at the shirt numbers that could be available to Tsimikas.
Number 21
Tsimikas currently wears No 21 for Olympiacos - and it is available in Jurgen Klopp's first-team squad.
An unorthodox option for a left-back but he is unlikely to be a first-team regular so sticking with 21 could appeal.
Number 3
The traditional number for a player in Tsimikas' position, Fabinho currently wears this on the back of his shirt.
The Brazilian midfielder could be tempted to take the No 6 vacated by Dejan Lovren so if that happens the new boy could pounce if Robertson sticks with his trusty 26.
Number 2
The number usually taken by the starting right-back, Trent Alexander-Arnold has worn No 66 since becoming an integral member of the Liverpool team.
If Alexander-Arnold maintains the status quo, then Tsimikas could be keen to snap up No 2.
