Man Utd: Pundits discuss possible Jadon Sancho transfer
Manchester United insiders reportedly believe Jadon Sancho signing for the club is a ‘matter of when, not if’. Ed Woodward has found negotiating a deal for the Borussia Dortmund star tricky to broker so far. But Ole Gunnar Solskjaer wants him signed and, with Alexis Sanchez now out the door, a move could be forthcoming.

Now, United are hoping to succeed in bringing him to Old Trafford. They’re willing to hand him the famous No 7 shirt, worn by legends Cristiano Ronaldo, David Beckham, Eric Cantona and George Best in the past.
Negotiations with Dortmund have proven tricky so far, with the Bundesliga giants demanding £108million in order to let their talisman go.
And the Telegraph say those with an inside track on the deal have claimed it’s a matter of when, and not if, Sancho makes the move to Old Trafford.
For Solskjaer, that’s brilliant news.
The Norwegian has spent the last 18 months pursuing Sancho, telling Marcus Rashford and Jesse Lingard to use their powers of persuasion to make a deal possible.
And he’s hopeful of having Sancho in his attack alongside Rashford, Anthony Martial, Mason Greenwood and Bruno Fernandes next term.
Meanwhile, former United star Gordon Hill has warned the club about placing too much pressure on Sancho’s shoulders if he joins.
And he fears that, if that happens, the Red Devils target could go the same way as flops Angel Di Maria and Memphis Depay.
“Jadon will come with a price tag, a level of expectation for him to live up to,” he said.
“In the past we have had Angel Di Maria and Memphis Depay to name just two who have come in and were going to be the creative saviour for United on the wing.
“Time and time again we’ve seen players come in for big money and then not perform, and it has generally come at some significant cost for that player to be moved on.
“I hope that won’t happen with Jadon but you will understand my apprehension – that’s not based on his talent, but the expectation that is already going to be put on his shoulders.
“He is clearly the player Ole wants, though, and as I said, he is being careful with his transfer policy – a big reason for us to feel confident.”
Sancho isn’t United’s only target.
Jack Grealish is also on their radar, despite Aston Villa demanding £75m in order to let him go.
