Chelsea star Mason Mount performs unreal trick shot
Tammy Abraham has compared Chelsea team-mate Mason Mount to Blues manager Frank Lampard, saying the young midfielder holds similarities with his current coach. Mount has enjoyed a superb breakthrough campaign at Stamford Bridge, bagging six goals and providing four assists in the Premier League this term.
These returns backed up an excellent season under Lampard at Derby County in 2018/19, where Mount scored 11 goals and supplied six assists in 45 outings across all competitions.
The 21-year-old operates as an attacking midfielder but has the versatility to be deployed out wide and is already a favourite of the Blues faithful.
Mount still has a long way to go to match Lampard's success in west London, but fellow youth academy graduate Abraham believes he is showing many of the same characteristics as the Chelsea icon.
Speaking about Lampard to Chelsea's 5th Stand app, Abraham said: “When we were growing up, him and John Terry were massive for us over in the academy.

“Lampard was always a leader, he always wanted to train the best, be the best. You could see that in his character.
“I see similarities in Mason Mount, you know.
“You can see that he has obviously studied the way the gaffer played and that’s huge; because he knows about scoring, he knows about defending, he knows about passing.
“He knows about everything, so it’s nice to have a manager with that experience.”

Abraham and Mount have been the main beneficiaries of Lampard's decision to back youth talent at Chelsea the season, as well as the Blues' ban on signing new players last summer.
Both have become integral parts of the senior squad and have helped fire the team into a top four position ahead of the final matches of the season.
Mount would surely be delighted to hear himself compared to his current manager, who won three Premier League titles, four FA Cups, two League Cups, two Community Shields, the Champions League and the Europa League during his playing career at Stamford Bridge.
When talking to Rio Ferdinand on Copa 90's YouTube Channel earlier this season, Mount said: “Being at Chelsea and an attacking midfielder, I’ve always looked up to Frank Lampard, the gaffer, tried to take things off his game and base my game around it.
