Liverpool: Takumi Minamino joins team for training session
Liverpool pulled off a transfer masterstroke when they signed Takumi Minamino from RB Salzburg, because the Reds got the playmaker "way, way too cheap". That's the opinion of ex-Salzburg boss Jesse Marsch, who reckons the Japanese ace will become a success at Anfield.
Minamino became Liverpool's first signing of the January transfer window when he joined from Salzburg.
The Premier League leaders triggered the 25-year-old's release clause of £7.25million.
He had become one of Europe's brightest attackers through the first half of the season, as he scored five goals and provided six assists in 14 Bundesliga games.
Minamino had courted attention from various teams around Europe, but Liverpool acted quickly to sign him.

And Marsch believes the Reds got a bargain when they signed him, admitting he wanted more for his star man.
He said to the Liverpool Echo: "The thing that hurt with Taki is that Liverpool got him way, way, way too cheap.
"But this is part of managing the market and managing player contracts.
"We always have here, with the scouting team and the sports director, they do an amazing job, and we always have the next generation of players here and ready to take the next step."
