Kane said: “I love Spurs, I’ll always love Spurs, but it’s one of those things I’ve always said that if I don’t feel we’re progressing as a team or going in the right direction then I’m not someone to just stay there just for the sake of it.”
United are happy with their current striking options though and believe Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial and Mason Greenwood are all capable of leading the line.
They could also make the loan deal for Odion Ighalo permanent in the summer.
Add to that the massive price Daniel Levy would demand for Kane, United are not interested in bringing the Spurs star to Old Trafford.

"Ighalo did a good job for them in the four or five games he played, but that's something they need.
"They need a centre-forward who can lead the line, Harry Kane does that.
"He can score goals out of nothing, he can link up with play, he can be the all-round centre-forward.
"If you prioritise one player, it has to be Harry Kane for Manchester United."
United have also been linked with Aston Villa midfielder Jack Grealish and Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly.

Solskjaer knows he will have a better chance of landing his targets if the club qualify for next season’s Champions League.
When football was suspended because of coronavirus, United sat fifth in the Premier League, three points behind Chelsea.
But that would be enough for them to make it into the competition with Manchester City banned from the Champions League next season.
And the bookmakers think the Sancho transfer is now inevitable.
Betfair Spokesperson, Sam Rosbottom said: “Manchester United have been heavily backed to sign not just Jadon Sancho but also Harry Kane, who’s odds to move up North have plummeted from 100/1 last month to just 6/4 today.
“Jadon Sancho has recently expressed an interest to return to England and punters have been backing United to be the club to sign him since the market opened earlier this year, when they were 13/5. This week reports have suggested that United have agreed personal terms with him and their odds to sign him have dropped once again to 11/10.
“Premier League rivals Chelsea are currently the second favourites to sign Sancho at 16/5, while European giants Real Madrid look to be going toe to toe with United over Kane, Los Blancos are 13/2 to be the strikers next club.”
