Paulo Dybala will be 'back on the market' claims pundit
Juventus forward Paulo Dybala has tested positive for coronavirus. The Argentina international broke the news on Twitter that he and girlfriend Oriana were in "perfect condition" despite the diagnosis.
The 26-year-old, who is currently asymptotic and is self-isolating, is the third Juventus player to contract COVID-19 after Daniele Rugani and Blaise Matuidi.
Italy recently overtook China as the worst-affected country by COVID-19. A further 793 deaths has taken the country’s number of fatalities to 4,825. The north of the country has been most hit by the disease.
Dybala wrote on Twitter: “Hello everyone, I wanted to inform you that we have just received the results of the Covid-19 test and both Oriana and I tested positive.
“Fortunately we are in perfect condition. Thanks for your messages and greetings to all.”
A statement from Juventus read: "Paulo Dybala has undergone medical tests that revealed a positive result for Coronavirus-COVID19.
"He has been in voluntary home isolation since Wednesday 11 March.
"He will continue to be monitored, following the usual regime. He is well and is asymptomatic."
Dybala’s news follows hot on the heels of League One club Portsmouth announcing that four of their players have tested positive for coronavirus.
James Bolton, Andy Cannon and Sean Raggett discovered the results of tests on Friday evening while a fresh batch of samples confirmed Haji Mnoga was also suffering.
Pompey said: “The four players are currently self-isolating in accordance with government guidelines and we send our best wishes to all of them.
“The club are now waiting for the results of 10 more tests and we, once again, urge everyone to follow the advice issued by the government.”
