Manchester United have nearly halved their asking price for Paul Pogba in order to get a quick deal secured in the summer transfer window, with the aim of giving boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer plenty of time to continue the overhaul of his squad.
According to The Sun, United are now willing to accept an offer of £100million for the 27-year-old.
Pogba’s future at the club has been uncertain after the midfielder declared that “it could be time for a new challenge” last summer.
The World Cup winner has been linked with a move away from Old Trafford, with Real Madrid and his former club Juventus interested in the player.
Pogba’s current contract is due to expire at the end of next season, but United do have the option to extend this by another year – which, if activated, would keep the player at the club until the end of the 2022 season.

However, the report claims United would only consider doing this to protect Pogba’s value.
United had previously set an asking price of £150m for Pogba, who had rejoined the Red Devils from Juventus in 2016 for £89m.
However, with Pogba’s agent, Mino Raiola, also vocal about his clients desire to leave the club this was increased at one point to a reported £180m.

But it is now claimed United are willing to move Pogba on and hope the reduced asking price will tempt the interested clubs into making a bid at the end of the season.
United are currently fifth in the Premier League and three points of fourth-placed Chelsea.
Despite inconsistent form they are now right in the battle to secure a Champions League qualifying place next season.
And this had all been achieved without Pogba for the most part, as injuries have limited his opportunities to just eight appearances this campaign.
He has had surgery to rectify his ankle problems and according to Solskjaer the midfielder is now on the cusp of returning to the first-team.
However, Pogba has risked angering United fans after he uploaded a video of himself training at home in a Juventus top with team-mate Victor Lindelof on Wednesday.
Because of the government’s advice on social distancing during the coronavirus pandemic, United have cancelled training sessions and have instead given their players home workout plans.
Pogba justified wearing the Juve strip in the clip by insisting he was supporting his compatriot, Blaise Matuidi, who has been infected with the deadly bug.
He wrote on Instagram: “Supporting our Juventus and Sampdoria friends @blaisematuidiofficiel, @albinekdal and all athletes and people around the world who are facing this difficult moment.⠀Be strong, #StayAtHome and be safe.
