Man Utd: Ighalo goal praised by Solskjaer after LASK win
Manchester United striker Odion Ighalo has named Andy Cole and Dwight Yorke as his Old Trafford inspirations. The Nigeria international has made a flying start to life at the Red Devils since touching down from Shanghai Shenhua, scoring four goals from eight appearances.
Question marks were asked of Manchester United when they swooped for Ighalo on transfer deadline day, bringing the 30-year-old to Old Trafford on loan.
But the Nigeria international has silenced his critics, scoring four goals from eight games.
And Ighalo has now named Cole and Yorke as his role models, with both players becoming club legends during their time at the club.
"I watched Andy Cole growing up,” the former Watford star told beIN Sports.
"Andy Cole and Dwight Yorke, they were two strikers at United who used to score goals.

"They were very strong and scored a lot of goals."
Ighalo also admitted that he never thought he’d fulfil his childhood dream of playing for United.
"When you say those kinds of things (about playing for United when he was a child), people say 'are you crazy?' because back then you don’t even know what the future holds," the striker added.
"First you just want to go outside the country to start playing – even for a small team, not even to talk of going to United.
