Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is eyeing RB Leipzig’s Timo Werner and Lyon’s Moussa Dembele, reports say. The Norwegian is determined to land a new forward when the transfer window reopens at the end of the season, having missed out on Erling Haaland.
Manchester United boss Solskjaer was told by Haaland that he’d make the move to Old Trafford just before the January transfer window.
But, in a blow to the Red Devils manager, the teenager ended up moving to Borussia Dortmund instead.
United spent the whole of January mulling over whether to sign a new striker and, in the end, they swooped for Odion Ighalo on loan.
The Nigeria international has done well for his new club so far, catching the eye against Chelsea and Everton while finding the net against Club Brugge.
Despite that, though, United aren’t expected to make the signing of Ighalo permanent at the end of the season.

And United appear to be behind their fierce rivals in the race to sign the striker, who should lead the line for Germany at Euro 2020 this summer.
Dembele may be easier to sign, though.
Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas recently opened the door to Dembele leaving the club, saying: “We already have a certain number of offers for our players for summer.
“We sell the players who want to leave to where they want to go.”
Chelsea tried to sign the 23-year-old during the January transfer window but ultimately missed out.

And their loss could be United’s gain if Solskjaer gets his way.
Speaking recently, Sky Sports pundit Kaveh Solhekol recently claimed that Dembele had a move to United in his sights.
“Manchester United will sign a striker in the summer and Lyon's Moussa Dembele wants to move to Old Trafford,” he wrote.
“Dembele will be allowed to leave Lyon at the end of the season and he wants to return to England where he started his career at Fulham.
“Dembele is keeping his options open but playing for a Manchester United side who have qualified for the Champions League would be a dream move.”
