Man United signing Cavani would 'make sense' says pundit
Last year, shortly before Manchester United’s Champions League clash with PSG, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was asked about Edinson Cavani. And what he said will offer fans hope that the Uruguay international could make a sensational move to Old Trafford this month.
United have been linked with Cavani in the wake of Marcus Rashford’s back injury.
The England international, who has been in sensational form with 19 goals across competitions so far this season, is set to miss the next three months through injury.
Solskjaer confirmed as much after the 2-0 defeat against Liverpool on Sunday, saying: “Marcus is going to be out for a while. He suffered a stress fracture against Wolverhampton [Wanderers].
“I don’t know how long he’ll be out for, but it’s normally six weeks before you can get going again and then he’ll need time to get match fit again.
“We’ve just got to deal with it for a while. He’s been absolutely fantastic all season. We had a similar situation with Anthony [Martial] out for eight weeks.”
And with United hunting a new forward, Cavani has been linked.
