And legendary forward Alan Shearer has warned they are unlikely to manage to bring any decent forwards to Old Trafford in the January window.

“They are going to have to sit and be patient and hope to improve after every transfer window, which is going to take a while,” he wrote in his Sun column.
“Their fans are going to have to sit and suffer.
“It was always a big gamble going into the season with Rashford, Martial and Mason Greenwood as the only recognised strikers.
“I said right from the off that letting Romelu Lukaku go and not replacing him was a massive mistake.
