Man United: Solskjaer provides update on Pogba’s injury
Paul Pogba’s Manchester United team-mates expect the midfielder to leave the club by the start of next season as rumours over his future continue. The Frenchman tried to leave Old Trafford last summer, expressing his desire for a “new challenge” just three seasons after he returned to the Red Devils in a then-world-record £89million transfer from Juventus.
Pogba’s agent Mino Raiola publicly applied pressure on United to sell his client during the off-season but interested clubs, namely Real Madrid, were warded of by a £150m price tag.
Raiola has come into the headlines again in recent weeks as the January transfer window kicks into gear, this time stating that Pogba can have a future at The Theatre of Dreams.
But, despite the Dutchman’s claims, there remains intrigue over Pogba’s situation, propelled by his ongoing ankle injury which has allowed him to rehabilitate in different corners of the world.
The 26-year-old had what was claimed to be a chance meeting with Real manager Zinedine Zidane, who was desperate to sign him in the summer, during an October break in Dubai.

And as Pogba prepares for another month on the sidelines after sustaining a different ankle problem in substitute appearances over the festive period, it has emerged that there are doubts around Carrington regarding his future.
The Times report that Pogba’s United team-mates are convinced he will leave the club in the summer transfer window.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was stern when asked last month whether the dynamic No 8 could depart in January.
“He's not getting sold in January, no," the United boss said sternly.

The super-agent told Italian publication La Repubblica that United are “out of touch with reality and without a sporting project” in a recent interview.
When Solskjaer was asked on Friday whether agents should speak about clubs, the Norwegian replied: “No.
“I can speak to Paul about it. I don't think I should talk to - or about - agents that talk about us.
"But Paul is our player and agents are hired by players - not the opposite way around. It is not agents' players, it is our players.”
He added: ”What me and Paul are talking about, I don't have to talk to you about. That will be between us."
