Arsenal: Mikel Arteta says ‘things need to change’
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has called Mesut Ozil a ‘massive player’ as the Spaniard prepares to attempt to turn the Gunners’ fortunes around this season. Ozil fell out of favour with previous boss Unai Emery, who was sacked three weeks ago by the club.
Ozil has been used scarcely this season and his commitment to the club has been questioned by fans who believe that the German wants to leave Arsenal.
Arteta is expected to come in and steady the ship for Arsenal, before trying his best to finish in the Champions League spots at the end of the season, although that now seems unlikely.
Ozil could play a huge part in that, but it all depends on whether he’s given the playing time by his new manager.

"We all know there is a lot of work to be done to achieve that but I am confident we'll do it.
"I'm realistic enough to know it won't happen overnight, but the current squad has plenty of talent and there is a great pipeline of young players coming through from the academy.
“I don’t want people hiding. I want people taking responsibility for the job. Anybody that doesn’t buy into this is not good enough for this environment or culture.
“We need the fans. We need to give them [something]. Give them a little bit and they will maybe respond.
