Coronation Street's Rowan 'exposed' as Toyah makes shock discovery

Toyah Battersby is a woman on a mission as she's determined to uncover Rowan and his 'Institute' but when she searches through his pockets, she finds a clue.

Corrie: Leanne and Toyah argue about Rowan

Toyah Battersby is determined to take down cult leader Rowan and makes a massive discovery in next week's Coronation Street.

Fans of the ITV soap will know Toyah has been keen to expose Rowan and his 'self-improvement' institute for weeks after he reeled in her sister Leanne Battersby. Despite Toyah trying to share her concern about The Institute, all of the positive thinking appears to have taken over Leanne's life.

Leanne even tells Rowan her deepest and darkest secrets while oblivious that he uses the information against her.

Meanwhile, Toyah has been struggling. After opening up to Nick Tilsley about the death of her stillborn baby girl Rose, the two found themselves connecting romantically and slept together.

Rowan saw the pair kissing and blackmailed Toyah into signing an NDA to keep quiet about the institute. But this hasn't deterred Toyah from digging into The Institute.

In forthcoming scenes, while Leanne piles on the pressure for Amy Barlow to join the cult, Nick takes Toyah for her latest hospital appointment.

Later in the week, Toyah searches the internet in vain, hoping to get more dirt on Rowan.

Meanwhile, Rowan puts pressure on Nick to invest in the new resource centre, threatening to blow the secret of his affair with Toyah if he doesn’t.

While this is happening, Toyah rifles through Rowan’s jacket pockets and finds his driving licence.

She reverses the image of him online, and then makes a discovery. But is it enough to destroy him?

Actress Georgia Taylor has teased her character Toyah will uncover information about Rowan's past that is the evidence she needs. But the character could face danger as she continues to take him and the group on.

Georgia told The Mirror: "She actually finds out some stuff about his backstory which goes to further vindicate her because yes, we knew it all along, he's really dodgy! So she will find out some stuff eventually.

"We keep doing scene after scene [of her doing] some digging, but she's not found anything yet but she will."

Coronation Street airs Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 8pm on ITV1 and ITVX
