And ESPN now report that United could solve their striker woes by making a move for Roma star Dzeko.
Solskjaer is reportedly determined to add a proven goalscorer with Dzeko moving ahead of Juventus star Mario Mandzukic when it comes to transfer targets.
Dzeko scored 50 goals in 130 league games for City, helping them to two Premier League titles, and has continued to impress in Serie A.
He has found the net six times in 15 appearances for Roma this season at the age of 33.
Solskjaer had recently said that he will be on the lookout for new players when the transfer window opens in January.

“If the right ones are available in January then we might do something. If not, these players will give everything (for a top-four finish).
