Until they get to a mature age and then probably you’ll start seeing the real Man United again
Andros Townsend on Man Utd
The forward is still only 22 and Townsend says it will not be until he is at least 26 and McTominay, 21, is at a similar age before United get to where they want to be.
“These guys are probably not going to… Man United are probably not going to get to where they want to be until Rashford is maybe 26, 27, [and] McTominay’s 25, 26,” Townsend said on The Season So Far.
“Until they get to a mature age and then probably you’ll start seeing the real Man United again.
“But definitely in the long run I think blooding those youngsters is definitely going to pay off.”

Meanwhile, Arsenal legend Lee Dixon says Manchester United right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka has plenty of work to do on the defensive side of his game.
“Yeah I disagree with Lee about Wan-Bissaka’s defending,” Townsend said.
“Having played on the same side as him for a year and a bit, for me he’s the best one-v-one defender I’ve ever seen or have ever definitely shared the pitch with.
“So maybe going forward he can improve some things but definitely defensively he’s incredible and for someone who was a winger 18 months ago, to see someone defend that well one v one is special and I’m not surprised that Man United have come in so soon.”
