Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola must not go to Anfield with the same approach he used in the visit to Liverpool last season, claims Premier League commentator Ian Darke.
Liverpool welcome City to Merseyside on Sunday in one of the most eagerly anticipated matches of the season.
The Reds are currently six points clear of the back-to-back champions, 11 games into the season.
The same fixture finished 0-0 last term, with Riyad Mahrez missing a late penalty for City.
This time the mathematics demand that City take a more adventurous approach and close that gap

But Darke believes City have to be more attacking than than they were that day because of the position they find themselves in currently.
“Well you’d have to say Liverpool [have] more [momentum] wouldn’t you,” Darke told ESPN FC.
“Jurgen Klopp used that phrase last season of ‘My mentality monsters’ which sounds like the title of some new Hollywood movie but you know what he means because they keep finding a way to win.
“They were behind against Tottenham Hotspur, they come back and win the game.

“They played badly at Old Trafford but they still found an equaliser in that game.
“Again at the weekend they’re behind after 87 minutes, they find a way to win. Not only did they find a way to win, they scored two great goals.
“So at Anfield I think even a draw is a good result for Liverpool because they’re six points clear.
“Last season remember Pep went there and City didn’t really play like City, they played quite conservatively and got the point.

Claudio Bravo, who would be the most likely candidate to step in for the Brazilian, was sent off late on in the match at the San Siro.
