Man Utd boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer drops January transfer hint that will worry fans
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has hinted at a quiet January transfer window for Manchester United.
Man Utd ‘lacked quality’ in Bournemouth loss says Solskjaer
Manchester United’s three game winning run ended with a 1-0 defeat at Bournemouth on Saturday, but fans shouldn’t be expecting incoming deals in January.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, when discussing what went wrong at Dean Court, has suggested that he is happy with his current playing squad, and outlined why he won’t be rushing to make signings when the window opens.
"To win games you need to score goals and I'm sure Anthony [Martial] and Marcus [Rashford] are going to get their share of goals," Solskjaer said.
"Anthony's just gonna improve but we need more creativity.
"But we've got loads of players here in the squad who could create more.
“It’s not just look outside [in the transfer market], we have to do with what we have.
“I thought the front four looked promising but flattered to deceive a little bit today.
“It looked like we could create chances but we just didn’t have the last pass or the last finish and that’s something we need to improve on."
Alan Shearer gave his thoughts on the disappointing United performance during Match of the Day, and blamed their creativity in the final third.
“I liked the first five minutes and the last five minutes where they at least showed a little bit of urgency,” he said.
“I thought they were woeful going forward.
“They were chasing the game, particularly in the second half.
“You’ve got Martial and Rashford, both who you’re looking at to get you back into the game, and neither were in the box [on occasions].
“They can’t get the ball into the box because there’s nobody in the box.
“That made it easier for Bournemouth than it needed to be.”
