Man Utd team news: Predicted 5-2-3 line up vs Norwich – De Gea, Williams and Tuanzebe in
Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is expected to give his youth players a chance to impress against Norwich City at Carrow Road this afternoon (4.30pm).
Manchester United youngsters Brandon Williams and Axel Tuanzebe could be handed rare starts when the Red Devils return to Premier League action against Norwich.
Ole Gunnar Soslkjaer will be tempted to shuffle his squad yet again after fielding a much-changed outfit in the 1-0 win over Partizan Belgrade on Thursday.
Left-back Williams was impressive in Serbia and could retain his spot as part of a five-man defence with Luke Shaw still doubtful after injury, although Ashley Young is also in contention.
Meanwhile, Tuanzebe has been struggling with a hip problem but is nearing a return and could displace Marcos Rojo in central defence.
Phil Jones is also set to drop out in favour of Victor Lindelof, with the Swede completing the back five alongside Harry Maguire and Aaron Wan-Bissaka.
Elsewhere, Eric Bailly and Timothy Fosu-Mensah have both returned to training and are closing in on full fitness – further boosting Solskjaer’s options – although neither will feature here.
And David de Gea should return in goal, having been rested for the clash with Partizan Belgrade after making a miraculous recovery from a hamstring problem to play against Liverpool last weekend.
Paul Pogba has been ruled out as he continues to struggle with an ankle issue that has caused him to miss six of the last eight matches.
Nemanja Matic is also out so Fred should come in for James Garner in central midfield, partnering Scottish international Scott McTominay.
Daniel James and Andreas Pereira are two more who could come back into the side with Juan Mata and Jesse Lingard having both started on Thursday.
Meanwhile Marcus Rashford is likely to return and could rotate with Anthony Martial between a central striker role and a left wing berth.
Norwich are without Grant Hanley, Timm Klose and Christoph Zimmermann while Mario Vrancic, Ben Godfrey and Ralf Fahrmann are all doubts.
