Lee Dixon on Arsenal coaches at Liverpool
On the incident, Townsend told Premier League Productions: “This is interesting Lee, this is a throw in.
“We’ve just seen [Pierre-Emerick] Aubameyang who’s just gone off the pitch, he’s just come back on the pitch.
“And this happens a lot - Unai Emery is a very demonstrative and animated coach and then once he starts and his staff are the pointing fingers and trying to direct traffic, I think sometimes as a player you can get dragged into that and start perhaps finding yourself in a bad position.”
Dixon agreed with Townsend that having that many people shout at you from the sideline can be to the detriment of a player.
