Why Man Utd ace Pogba will have ‘conflicts’ with Zidane if he seals Real Madrid transfer
Paul Pogba could clash with Zinedine Zidane in Madrid because he has issues with strong personalities.
Man Utd: Expert says Pogba would have 'conflicts' with Zidane
Paul Pogba has been heavily linked with a move away from Manchester United this summer after the player suggested it could be a good time to have a new challenge at another club.
Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane has embarked on an overhaul this summer, of a squad that finished third in La Liga last season, and he has identified his compatriot as an ideal addition to his side.
However, Zidane will have to work quickly if Real are to sign Pogba, as the European transfer window closes on September 2.
United are reluctant to sell the player they paid Juventus £89million for back in summer of 2016 and as a result have placed a reported £150m price tag on Pogba.
If Paul has a coach with a strong personality around him, in time there will be a clash somewhere
While United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer sees Pogba as a key member of his youthful squad, the Frenchman has expressed a desire to leave Manchester.
However, Le Havre chief recruiter Franck Sale, who played an important role in Pogba’s development as a young boy, believes a move to Real might not benefit the player.
And Sale foresees a clash of personalities occurring if Pogba was to play under Zidane.
“If Paul has a coach with a strong personality around him, in time there will be a clash somewhere," Sale told Optus Sport.
"When he left for Juventus a few years ago, with Alex Ferguson that was very complicated too.
“Paul didn't concede because he has such a strong character. So when he says, 'I'm leaving', he's leaving.
"If tomorrow he goes to a big club like a Real Madrid, he'll still have his conflicts, even with Zizou [Zidane]."
Pogba was spotted in Paris by Sale’s scouts when he was only 12-years-old and the youngster subsequently agreed to swap the suburbs of the capital for the costal city of Le Havre.
And after what has been said this summer Sale thinks Pogba’s exit from Old Trafford is now a matter of when and not if.
"Paul is a man who needs to be challenged,” Sale added.
“I think he is becoming too comfortable at United. It's not as demanding for him as it was a few years ago.
"I think he is ready for a new challenge, that's obvious. I can see him leaving for another big club searching for this new challenge."
