Alan Shearer claims Man City vs Tottenham VAR decision was ridiculous and unfair
MANCHESTER CITY being denied a last-minute winner against Tottenham yesterday was ‘ridiculous’ and ‘not fair’, because the handball rule shouldn’t stand at all.
In a manner reminiscent of last season’s Champions League semi-final between the two at the same stadium, however, VAR had the last laugh.
In the 91st minute, a Manchester City corner was knocked on by Rodri to Jesus, who took a touch before blasting home.
After the celebrations and died down, the goal was struck off by VAR, as it was judged to have touched the hand of Rodri on its way through to Jesus.
Pep Guardiola was infuriated after the game, having seen three points slip through his fingers, and said “they have to fix it” when asked about VAR.

And speaking on Match of the Day, Shearer agreed with the Spaniard, and lambasted the rule for being unfair to the attacking team.
“That handball law is just ridiculous,” he claimed.
“It is ridiculous.
“There’s not one player on that pitch who appealed or even thought [it was a handball].
