Arsenal slammed over ‘close’ transfer deal - ‘That totally bemuses me’
ARSENAL signing Sami Khedira from Juventus would make no sense whatsoever, reckons former West Ham goalkeeper Shaka Hislop.

Khedira has been linked with a surprise summer move to Arsenal.
The former Germany international was pictured at the Emirates on Sunday for the Emirates Cup match between the Gunners and Lyon.
And on Monday it was claimed by Italian journalist Tancredi Palmeri that Khedira was “close” to completing a move to Arsenal.
Khedira struggled throughout last season with injury problems, making just 10 Serie A appearances for Juventus.
Even if you could get Khedira for free, what’s he bringing to Arsenal at this point?
And Hislop does not see what the 32-year-old would bring to Unai Emery’s Arsenal side.
“I don’t know why you would [take a chance on Khedira],” he told ESPN FC.
“Even if you could get Khedira for free, what’s he bringing to Arsenal at this point?
“I think his legs have gone, I don’t think he gives anywhere near enough in midfield.
“That totally bemuses me at any price.”
Meanwhile, Arsenal captain Laurent Koscielny’s future remains in doubt.
The Frenchman is said to be keen on joining Rennes but the Ligue 1 side want the 33-year-old on a free transfer.
Hislop cannot see that happening but says Koscielny will end up leaving before the window shuts.
“Good luck with that, Rennes [not paying a fee],” Hislop said.
“The question here is to leave Arsenal, given the noise we’ve heard from him I think it’s going to happen sooner rather than later for everybody concerned.
“Koscielny surplus to requirements and at an age where I think Arsenal need to start thinking seriously about what to do with their once-upon-a-time captain.”
